The GOG Game Halloween Sale is live until November 3 (GOG Free Games)

GOG Game is offering a free game for Halloween Sale Till Nov 3.

When it was released in 2019, Genesis Alpha One. A roguelike first-person shooter about creating, and managing. And navigating a ship through a galaxy that is quite keen on killing you, did not blow our doors apart. However, it featured several intriguing concepts, as we noted in our 59% review. It was unable to bind them together in a captivating or fascinating way. While I can’t say how much it has improved since then due to the numerous updates. It would be a great time to find out since it is free in GOG’s Hallo!

The fundamental premise sounds amusing in the way that so many “Things that are “fun” in video games would be absolutely horrible to deal with in real life: “In a near future plagued by wars, corrupt governments. And catastrophic pollution, powerful corporations have created the Genesis program in a desperate attempt to save humanity. You go on the ultimate mission as the Captain of a Genesis spacecraft and venture into unknown space. Explore a vast, randomly generated universe, construct and manage a spaceship, and farm resources. And deal with terrifying alien infestations and clone creatures.”

By the way, this is the Genesis Alpha One Deluxe Edition. Which also contains the basic game, the music, and the Rocket Star Corporation DLC. Additionally, most individuals appear to enjoy it:

Rating overall on GOG

It has a “generally positive” user rating on Steam and a “3.8/5” rating overall on GOG. While not universally adored, it is intriguing enough to warrant a look, especially since it is free.

There are other promotions going on at GOG besides the free Genesis Alpha One download. For example, the Halloween Sale itself is offering some really great discounts on games like Cyberpunk 2077 for 50% off, Disco Elysium for 75% off, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for 60% off, and Prey Digital Deluxe for a ridiculously low price of £10.

But the very cheap stuff is always my favorite part of GOG discounts. In this case, it can be found in the Sweet Treats category, which has a minimum discount of 89%. A few examples include Memoria ($2), Styx: Master of Shadows ($2), Edna and Harvey: Harvey’s New Eyes ($2), Leisure Suit Larry in Wet Dreams Don’t Dry ($3), The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet ($2), Candle ($1), and so on. This is the kind of content I come out for, even though GOG may be attempting to become a more widely used digital marketplace.

On GOG Game Halloween Sale, Genesis Alpha One is free until October 30 at 10 a.m. ET. The GOG Halloween Sale is available through November 3.
